To the delight of Pac-Man many fans young and old on Saturday 22nd May 2010, Wharf Green, Swindon was the new home for pacman Blinky, Pinky, Inky and plenty of pellet balloons to chomp through in the afternoon sun. As part of the Swindon based, Museum of Computing activities to celebrate Pac-Man 30th Anniversary, the town were entertained with Big screen gaming and controlling the human pacmaze via a camera relaying images to the BBC Big screen. An exclusive exhibition was also on display at the Museum of computing alongside the many compute exhibits on display.

It's a bit blurry due to the stereoscopic 3D effects, but here's the video preview that Namco Bandai showed off at E3 last week for its potential Pac-Man TV show produced by former Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad and animated by Sprite Animation Studios/OLM Digital Inc. As you can tell from this trailer, Arad and Namco Bandai have a very different vision of Pac-Man than what you might remember from the classic arcade game. The proposed show follows a teenage Pac-Man as he tries to make it through high school while also defend Pac-Land from invading ghosts. "We feel we have a unique opportunity to have an action adventure, human interest story," said Arad, according to a report from Variety. "We don't know what happened to Pac-Man's parents. He's the only yellow one in Pac-Land; what does that mean? Is it a social statement? We'll find out." It was made in 1996 by Virtuality Entertainment, its copyright currently belongs to Arcadian Virtual Reality and runs on an Intel 486-based PC. An August 17, 2008 press release states that Arcadian Virtual Reality will liquidate all currently held assets, including the highly regarded intellectual property rights of Virtuality Entertainment, before January 2009 (see snipurl.com ).
